Recipe:
Ingredients:
For the Steak Marinade:
- 2 thinly sliced beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Dish:
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced into wedges
- 1 tbsp butter
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- Baguette or crusty French bread
- Optional sides: Pâté, pickled vegetables, or cucumber slices
Instructions:
- Marinate the Steak:
- Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Add the beef steaks to the marinade, ensuring they’re well-coated. Let sit for at least 20 minutes (or overnight for more flavor).
- Prepare the Vegetables:
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan over medium heat.
- Melt 1/2 tbsp of butter and sauté the onion until fragrant and softened, about 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Steak:
- Increase the heat to high and add the marinated steak to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness. Remove and set aside.
- Fry the Eggs:
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook sunny-side-up until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.
- Assemble and Serve:

- Serve immediately with warm baguette, pâté, or your preferred sides.
